About Me…

MeAndPaul

My name is Ryan Detzel. You killed my father. Prepare to die.

I’m married to Allison since March 22nd of 2003.

We had our first child, Ava, on August 1st of 2006. She is cool-cool beans.

Our second offspring, Finn, was delivered on July 31st of 2009…just one day before his big sister’s birthday. I have a feeling he’s going to argue that he’s “older” since his birthday comes “first”.

I’m a pastor (yes…weddings, funerals, counseling, teaching, etc..) at Vineyard Westside Church in Cincinnati, OH. I’ve been on staff full time for around 4 years now.

Pictures? I take lots of them.
Food? I cook lots of it.
Jesus? I’m obsessed with Him.

A dream of mine is to officiate, photograph, and cater a wedding…all in one shot. Ridiculous.

    Hello Ryan,

I’ve been looking for a church much like yours, but I haven’t had any luck in my area. Are you affiliated with any other churches? Or have any ideas of wways I can go about finding the church that’s right for us?

Sorry to post this in a comment….

    Hey Carly,

I’m a part of a Vineyard Church. Vineyard churches are all over the world! You can go to http://www.vineyardusa.org to see if you can find one near you…if not, we’ll have to figure something else out.

The only thing I can really suggest is that you visit new churches for at least 2-3 weeks in a row.

Every church has “off” weeks where it might not be your cup of tea…give them a try a few times and see how you’re feeling.

Thanks so much for the advice, Ryan.

Pray that we’ll find the right one for us.

    Mr. Detzel,
Your “Everyone Has A Story” videos have really spoken volumes to me. Would it be OK if I shared these with my church? May I also steal the idea and make videos of my own?

God is groovy… all the time,
    Laurie

I want to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I love you soooooo much and I thank God for giving me such an awesome Son-in-law. Your faith journey has been inspiring for our entire family……proof of that being Dad’s baptism. You continue to grow us as our pastor and I am excited to see what God has in store for us next. Thank you for your wisdom, humor and, above all, love. I hope your day is filled with wonderful things. Love, Mom

I stumbled upon your site earlier this morning and have really enjoyed it. I have been watching the videos – they are wonderful and so touching and inspiring. I noticed your food tab at the top of the page and clicked to take a peak. I noticed the roasted ricotta romas title and then my mind clicked – you’re pastor ryan the cook on pioneer woman!! I guess I am slow, and I suppose I never noticed or looked for link to you. I assumed you were a pastor in a town in her area. I have rambled enough.

Thank you for the recipes, but thank you too for the wonderful site of reverb!

I am glad I came across it!

Small, small world…I just have to share. I visit pioneer woman’s site multiple times a day and I have looked at several of your recipes as well. I became curious about who “Pastor Ryan” was and yesterday I noticed a post that you are from Cincinnati. I have lived in Cincinnati my entire life. I was a nerd and googled you to see what church you work with. My parents attend the Tri-County Vineyard. Hope your day is awesome.

Now it is a REALLY small world. I was looking at the Vineyard website and you work with Josh Emerson. I went to high school with Josh and I am sure that I don’t have to tell you he is a great guy.

Dear Ryan, It encourages me so much to see your blog.
Talking TRUTH is so important, especially in a society
that is walking further and further away from the truth.I am in the beginning stages of starting a blog, which will focus on family, raising children, and the Christian faith. Jesus is everything-all I am and have accomplished is because of him and I want to shout it to the world. May every Christian everywhere bring glory to His name and share the gospel, where ever they may be! Go Bro!
