Randomography // dogs, kids, friends…

Our friends Rob and Elaine were in town this past weekend. They moved away from us a few months back to a land called NashVegas Tennessee. My brother-in-law Chris grabbed my camera and caught Rob and I when we weren’t ready…some of the best shots are when you aren’t ready.

No one really cared that Rob and Elaine were there though…they pretty much were just hired chauffeurs for their little girl Harper. Harper is a show-stopper.

Playing around with flash…look at those eyes!!

Harper Jane

And then there’s this one…this one is my favorite. Harper is pretty much the sweetest little girl I’ve ever been around. And she loves the Ghostbuster’s song. Which is awesome.

Harper Jane Shelton

Don’t worry…I don’t like her more than Ava. It’s just…well…sometimes…

The kid is weird okay?

Back at home, Allison’s little sister Allayna has been staying with us all week as her parents are out of town on a cruise. Must be nice…good thing I’m not there though. The last cruise I went on earned me an extra 11 pounds in one week. No lie.

This is Dan with some fairy wings. I’m posting this image purely for blackmail purposes that have yet to be determined.

And finally we have Saul. He’s a little punk-tastic Jack Russell with some serious short-guy-syndrome. While he only weighs in around 13lbs in real life, he would tell you he weighs a buck thirty. If you were to ask him of course. Which you shouldn’t. Because he would kill you.

Saul Couch

Poor little SaulBall. No one loved him and so he was left at the pound. I stopped in one day to look around <—don’t ever do this) when all of the sudden this sad sack of a little white canine was jumping up into my arms. I bought him without telling Allison (WHOOPS…my bad) and brought him home to love him and make him be my new ADD distraction…well…at least until I found my yo-yo or something else of interest to keep me busy. Allison came home from work and I told her she was the best wife ever.

Apparently I didn’t normally say this because she asked what I did. It was then that I revealed Saul to her…she simultaneously pooped her pants and gave me THE LOOK simply saying, “Ryan?”

Haha. I thought it would be good if they spent some time alone together to get to know one another, so I left for a class that night and came home to a volatile situation. It would seem that Saul had a serious case of worms and they began crawling out of his butt just as Allison was warming up to him. This did not foster growth in their relationship with one another. I found myself on an emergency trip to the vet at 11pm and they lived happily ever after.

Please note the gigantor collar Saul sports…thus proving that if you believe yourself to be a 130lb dog even though you are physically only a 13lb dog…you can accomplish anything. Including running free throughout the neighborhood with a properly-sized invisible fence collar.

Pigtails!

The pigtails are adorable! Did you notice that the part is just a tad off center. I’m surprised your OCD can handle that.

Lots of cuteness in your randomography today. Except for the worm part!

I did the same thing. My husband had said he had wanted a dog and then randomly I said lets go to the humane society just to look. (this never works) I wanted to take all of them home–but fell in love with the dog that is currently at my feet, Jonas Quinn. LIke Saul, I believe he thinks he is a big dog however he is only about 15lbs. He also had worms and let me say that was not an enjoyable experience. You have to love worm medicine! :)

My goodness, I look stunning in those wings. I’m pretty sure they are butterfly wings though because butterflies are so much more manly then fairies.

Ohh.. the pigtails! Don’t ever cut them. I regretted immediately the day we cut our daughter’s adorable, curly pigtails. They never have that soft “baby” hair again.

You can tell I’m still not over it!

Ryan, since you moved to wordpress, your site isn’t updating properly on the link on my site. They are supposed to list in chronological order of newest poster and yours is stuck at the bottom of the list even though you have posted. (Does that make sense?) Anyway, I can’t see a difference in the address, but I thought maybe there was some difference due to feedburner…or something…I am lost!

    Ryan,
You rock, your pictures are beautiful! What a gift to see life so beautifully through a lens of a camera. By the way, your wife is beautiful and your child will turn out ok. Needless to say, she is a princess and child of a most awesome king! See you soon!
