I went in for my latest tattoo session (yes, I realize I’ve posted way too much about tattoos lately) and got some cool shots of the atmosphere. I sat in the chair for around 3 and a half hours with only a couple of short breaks. It hurt.
Remember…there’s still some time to show off your ink work by emailing me photos of your tattoo(s). I will be posting on Monday to share other readers photos. Send along your blog address with it and I’ll link the photo to your site. detzelpretzel(at)gmail.com

…He is good, but He is not tame…

Those guys are so talented. I am too much of a wimp to handle 30 seconds in that 3 1/2 hour chair.

Very nice!

That looks amazing!!! I can’t believe they did that much in just three hours!

Gorgeous! What an awesome tat, Ryan!

You take some great pics! Is that an action you are using in picture 1? Nice tat too!

What a great tattoo! Love the pics… After all this blogging/discussion about it, I may actually consider getting one. : )

Ouch! My boyfriend has some inner-arm tattoos, and he said getting them HURT, much more than the ones on his outer arm or back. Hope your arm is feeling better.

it looks great, Ryan

Looks fantabulous! I may now have to give in and finally get the tattoo I’ve been longing for….Yaya!

Ah, the shading needle. I believe Satan lives in that needle. Its evil.

Cool tats, but one question…..what does the first guys hands say?? It’s driving me crazy trying to figure it out!!
{reply}
Dude that’s a rockin’ tattoo!! And the pics are awesome! But you’ve done NOTHING to alleviate my fear of sitting in one of those chairs and getting the tat that I’ve longed for…..I truly think I’m just too chicken! Any advice? Take Tylenol? Get Drunk? (only kind of kidding on that one) Shut up, suck it up and take it??
And I’m with Lisa….what DOES that first guys hands/fingers say??
{reply}
It says “open eyes” I think.

Looks like Aslan from Narnia. It’s beautiful. I could never have a tatoo due to the fact that I have to change things on a regular basis to keep my sanity. What I mean is anything permanent in the “decorative/design” sense would kill me mentally. I have to change things out consistantly. Not just alter things but change them totally. I’m weird that way. Now on others I think tatoos if done well are cool. I have several family members that have them and they are quite nice.
Good addition to your collection Ryan.
BTW How are Allison and baby #2 doing - us women need an update.

But man, that shading HAD to hurt…The little bit I had done was killer!
{reply}
Awesome!, I could not even get a whisker done, but I will stick with my love dots! Cool pics, I am sure it is hurting now! Can’t wait to see it!

Beautiful! What is written on your forearm?
{reply}
I, too, love your new tattoo. It is beautiful. I have one, and have recently considered getting another one, but I’m unsure what I would want or where I would put it.
I was also wondering what it says on the knuckles of the guy in the second picture?
{reply}
holy crap that is beautiful!!
{reply}
Very Nice!
{reply}
Sssswwweeeetttt!! Your tattoo artist is amazing!
{reply}
The photography work is fantastic.
Fear of the needle means I will never get inked, but I can admire the artwork.
{reply}
Wow! The artist did an amazing job!
{reply}
wow, that’s GORGEOUS. also? your artist is GOOD YO. who is he? what’s his name? what’s his shop called?
i’m shopping for a new artist. and … driving to your city ain’t so bad from chicago.
i’d even be able to swing over and go to church w/ya’ll.
{reply}
Oh it’s spectacular!

The lion is beautiful. Doug says you got sick because you got a tattoo. But we know how he feels about tattooes………………
Are you feeling better?
{reply}
Gorgeous tat! That guy does great work.

Nice work!
{reply}
Wow Ryan, where do you get that done? I am assuming somewhere here in town?? He is really talented!
{reply}

{reply}
Your lion is absolutely stunning! He looks so proud and regal. Same question as #36 - can you maybe post a follow-up about the artist/shop? He does excellent, excellent work.
{reply}
That is awesome. Beautiful!! That had to hurt. You are one tough ninja!!!
{reply}
That is an absolutely gorgeous tattoo. I love it.
I’m slowly working up the courage to get my first one. I’m too terrified to take it seriously right now, though. It’s just in the mere “I wish…” stages.
