We’ve started feeling at home quickly here at the lodge. Imagine that. Ava has already been asking, “Are we going to live here now?”
I told her the truth, “Yup.” Believe it and it will be so, right?
Ava was a little saddened to find out that she wouldn’t be the one driving the Gator this morning.
She got over it though.
My pretty girls. The smell of cow-poop in the air. What a beautiful thing.

Y’know, the lodge would make a really nice commune.
I’m just sayin’.

I’m meeting you for the 1st time through PW, hello! Which reminds me, I need to bookmark your roma tomato & ricotta recipe. Yum!

Love your site. Enjoying following your stay at the lodge.

Well, it’s funny cause I have been following both of your blogs for a while now-and I thought you guys were great friends to begin with! It has been so cool to see how you guys have been blogging about each other. She told us ahead of time that she would be giving you all these funny ingredients and testing your skillz to see what you can come up with each day and now it sounds like she might just pass out from that awesome sauce you made.
It is pretty cool how you guys have figured out how to make this great big world so much smaller :0). Have fun at the ranch. I know I shouldn’t be jealous, but I totally am!

Love the pics of the Lodge! Can’t post too many in my book. Little Ava will treasure that pic of her Daddy reading her a book when she is much older. Your wife is one lucky girl! Enjoy your stay!

It’s surreal having two of your favorite bloggers together. Very cool. Can’t wait to see more.

I LOVE that last photo!
You are NOT allowed to make Ree pass out for too long in delight, though, ok? The way she’s talking about the mushroom leek sauce, I fear we may never hear from her again. lol

I’ve come to know you and your awesome family through Ree (P-dub) and it’s just so cool that you all are having such fun at the Lodge! It’s been really great fun watching y’all cooking and getting to know each other! Thanks a bunch for all the great photo’s and for your grace!

I love to see a dad reading with their child.
As I watch my hubby read to one or more
of our grandchildren and he draws them close and
makes the words on a piece of paper come to life,
it just makes my heart go all mushy with love.
Ava Beans is so adorable (bet you didn’t know that

Hey, are you reading What’s a Ghost Going to Do?? About a ghost named Gus? I had that book when I was a child. I still have it. My 18 and 12 yr olds never really got into it, but it was one of my faves…
{reply}
You are reading Gus and the Baby Ghost!!!! That was my favorite as a child, and is now a favorite of my children. I thought I had the only copy. Wow, great to see others enjoying it too.
On a side note, I have read PW for years, and have heard about you much. But I am so glad to see some of your recipes. Please keep up the delicious work.

Oh you guys, Ava’s face plant in the steering wheel was just to precious. What a little cutie pie you have there. So, how was parting from Ree for her? Been loving your recipes and tats on Ree’s site for a while now – nice to see you all together. Will be checking you guys out from now on.
