Summertime
Winter, I’m sorry, but I officially hate your stinking guts. I’ve always said that I didn’t like you, but I want it to be loud and clear. I HATE YOU. Everyone always says that I only hate you while it’s cold outside, well…they’re wrong. It was 94 degrees out yesterday and I sweated like crazy. The results are in. I don’t need you in my life.
Fighting
Fighting for the things that are right and against the things that are wrong. Fighting for justice.
Being a dad
Realizing I’ve got such an incredible opportunity to set the trajectory of my little girl’s life.
Community
Groups of people coming together for a common purpose. Beautiful.
Hoses, Squirt Guns, Waterslides, and Pools
This phenomenon of water that is so much more than just getting wet.
Acting goofy
It’s easy to get so wrapped up in ourselves that we become boring and dead. Hanging out with kids is an opportunity to re-learn what’s important in life.
Serving
Seeing my friends and family step up, give of themselves, sacrifice, and find purpose in the process.
Reckless Abandon
When people are willing to go for it, without reservation.

I also LOVE summer. I am in Houston visiting my family and it was 105 yesterday. I loved the sun and heat after a very long, frigid Indy winter. There is nothing better than sunshine. (Except maybe a cold glass of ice tea after being in the sunshine.)

having spent the first 27 years of my life enduring harsh winters, i can say with unrestrained confidence that i, too, hate winters. 18 years enjoying the mild winters in northern california only serves to confirm that sentiment.

I LOVE winter. I only don’t like it when it’s 15 below and there is no snow (like Ohio winters). I love how fall takes us in to winter. I love the smell of the crisp cool air. I’ve always said “I can always put more clothes on to keep warm, but there is only so much I can take off”. Summer is o.k. As long as there is a lot of water and air conditioning. Peace!

I just plain love kids! There are so fun to watch and be around. I love their spirit and the fearlessness. We have a pool so water plays a huge part of our summer. Can’t wait to break out my Nikon 50mm 1.4 lens after seeing your great images.

Here in Oregon winter means one thing: WET. Okay, maybe two – WET and COLD.
I don’t like cold.
I’m especially fond of wet.
I lived here nearly my entire life – and as I get older, the less tolerant I am of the wet and cold! Could have something to do with the fact that I’ve lost a couple hundred pounds and I’m always cold…
Anyway – recently was in Tucson to watch our niece graduate from Medical School. My husband and I turned to one another at one point in the trip and said, “We should be snowbirds!”
Dang – that sounds so good!

I too hate Winter! Growing up in Arizona and then moving to Ohio in my teen years really contributed to my “adversion” of cold weather. When that first Ohio winter wind cut through me like a knife I remember thinking I was dying. (literally) Now in Nashville, winters are not quite as bad, but still not the heavenly atmosphere of Phoenix.
Enjoy the summer bliss while you can.

Being a parent is by far the coolest thing ever. Last night I was sitting on the couch with my two older daughters (12.5 & 11 years old) and we saw the preview for My Sister’s Keeper, which we are all wanting to go and see, and the scene where Cameron Diaz shaves her head comes on.
My oldest daughter, Amanda, looked over at me and I told her I would totally do that if she had cancer and had to shave her head.
And she started crying.
I love being a mom. Of sisters.

my kids (incl., of course, my ddil)… my grandson, only 2 months until he is born.yay!… the last day of school because lazy summer days are finally here… writing (although you wouldn’t know it to look at my blog.lol)… photography… finding something like geocaching that I can enjoy with my kids playing outside… spring & fall, spring for the beauty of the rebirth of life; fall for the smells, the colours and the lack of bugs… friendship, my friends are my family and I love them without limits… family, they are always there, even when you’d rather they weren’t.lol… bloggers, especially thisisreverb, because you make me think outside my little box…knowing God loves me, not because of what I do, but in spite of it…

What adorable kids doing their thing, all of them. I find that guys don’t mind the sweat but me, I’m girly and it isn’t perspire, especially here in Texas. It’s all about opposites to make you appreciate one or the other or both. The first picture makes you want to hug them all. So how many pics did it take to get them all still?

I HATE SUMMER!! Well, hate is a very strong word, but I extremely don’t like summer. It shortens the time I can be out doors and California turns into an ugly brown. Fires start, not the ones in my fireplace, but the beautiful hills, mountains and houses. My horses are miserable in the heat. We have to cut back on water usage…
I am rambling, but wait, I do like summer evenings. Cool breezes, and you can stay outside at night longer. OK maybe I kinda think summer is just OK. But I do LOVE fall, winter and spring. But of course we don’t have snow but on occasion. Sorry.

Winter is a bad thing – summer is a great thing – yes it is “too hot” – dang that’s the whole idea!!! Why else would a 61 year old woman load up her grocery cart with popsicles? yeah buddy summertime summertime sumsumsummmertime! BTW – squirting people with hoses – is just too great – sorta like baptizing them with FUN

I, too, HATE winter. Even during the dog days of summer, I love the hot. When I lived in South Texas, I loved the hot. Every 105-degree minute of it
That being said, very few things are as fun as playing with a garden hose! And you just can’t do that in the winter.

I keep reading your first statement, here. I have to agree. I HATE winter. Which is why I live in FL. I grew up in the cold north (WI) and do not miss winter one little bit. I have a sister who lives for winter and one who is allergic to the cold (no kidding she breaks out in hives) neither one can understand why I won’t move back. The allergic one even lived down here for a couple of years just never got over her homesickness, silly girl.
