I forgot to mention that the recipe does need more milk than called for to make the batter thinner. A commenter said she used about 2 cups of milk and that sounds right to me.

Congratulations on your family.

This is the recipe I use. My French husband tells me that they are the best he has ever had. Don't worry when the first one doesn't turn out...it never does.

I can't believe you don't like dill. It has to be one of my favorite spices to use on Salmon. Dill, garlic, pepper, salt and a little lemon juice. I love the mix of dill and lemon.

I'm sad for you not liking dill. But yay for babies!

I ‘learned’ this recipe when I was a teenager in Germany and it works every time:
Beat one egg (Or more if you need to make more), add flour until it almost becomes a ball of dough and unstirrable, now add milk and a splash of soda water until the batter is almost too thin (like pure milk). A pinch of salt. Melt butter in a pan, medium/high heat, add batter and swirl the batter in the pan. Cook over medium heat, once slight bubbles form, flip. Add more butter and sugar immediately on top of the crepe and fold in fourth. (If you are making Crepe Suzette for the adults, add a splash of Grand Manier). This might not be a crepe recipe ‘by the book’ but it works. Use a smaller pan in the beginning until you get the hang of swirling the batter.
If it does not work you can blame it on the fact that the recipe came from a Dill Lover and what do they know?
Thanks for a lovely blog I enjoy reading.

Love is always more wonderful multiplied. Three girls and 2 grandsons. Life is such a blessing how can heaven be more wonderful than the love of a small child's hugs and kisses. What a God we have.

My husband and my two older children and myself were baptized in a lake here in our town a few weeks ago. I was great! I have been to inside church ones but never one outside. My daughter wanted to be baptized in the River of Jorden but she had to settle for Lake Anna:) I posted photos on here if you want to see them. Child number two for me was hard. They where 20 months apart. After about 6 months I was as if I always had two children. You all will be great!

I don't like dill either. Once I had a halibut dish at a fancy restaurant, and they abused the dill. Couldn't taste anything but dill. I have never gone back to dill since.

Before you get "Baby Head" (which describes the first 12 months of having a new little one around), I'd LOVE to know what action you used on the sepia toned pics of your lovely daughter.... :-)

Pastor Ryan,
I just want to encourage you to enjoy your girl in the next 23 days, it is the last time she gets to be the only child and the last time it will be just you three. It will be so, so good to have your new baby and so wonderful to have the new edition. But she will look so big (her hands will look huge) when the little one gets here and she'll take on her new role as big sister, but she'll no longer be the baby, she'll be the little momma. So love her and hold her and cherish the moments because it's all over way too soon. You'll blink your eyes and she'll be leaving for college. Just enjoy.
Blessings,
Carla Collier (the mom who's girl was gone way too fast) :(

I remember being scared to death just moments after the birth of my second child. I started to cry and said to my husband, "What about our daughter?" I was so scared that she would feel left out and would hate her brother. She was fine, and we adjusted fairly quickly to life as a family of 4. I wish I had been where I am now with my walk with Jesus when he was born. I think I would have been a much better and more patient mom. I tried to do it all on my own and really struggled. I try each day to surrender my kids and myself to Him and it makes a HUGE difference in the way I parent. Remember that He is with you in all things, even in the seemingly little things!
