I love that you capture the small details…the ponytails, the wonder-ment of taking in the pond, the “I just woke up and love my blankie” moment…if only we could capture the “baby smell”…the “I’ve been playing outside in the fall leaves smell”…these are priceless!

Beautiful girl! You blink and they are older and changed! I wish I had enjoyed my oldest more when she was little. I was so focused on having a perfect kid, that I did not laugh enough! Now she is seven and full of SALT! Have fun! It goes by quickly!

So, is this up because you realize how fast they grow, and how fast your new one will grow? Because the second one grows even faster - since your time is divided with the first. So click away man, you’ll be doing this again in a few years. ;)

Oh and looking thru your post here reminds me of the idea of life flashing before us, and how we feel like time is so slow as kids, but it’s lightning fast when you’re watching it (as a parent)… maybe that’s why each day is as a thousand years, and thousand years as a day with the Lord. Our life flashes before Him…hmm..

It’s going to be funny when the new baby comes, how suddenly HUGE Ava will seem. She’ll walk into the hospital room and you’ll say what happened to my sweet little girl? She’s enormous and old! So enjoy this time, while she’s still your baby!

What a beautiful & loving family you are. This is a really lovely post. We have a 5 yr old & a 2 yr old (boys) and have done similar. It is really moving to see how we (all) have changed & grown together. Sounds like you’re about to experience the added joy of seeing your children loving each other, too. There is nothing like it! For some sweet brotherly love visit: http://homesweetjones.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html

Wow! I’m scrolling thru the pictures, watching Ava grow. I got to the flower costume & my heart melted because I had that same costume for my little girl when she was about that age. Scroll down a few more and my heart stopped. We have the same exact furniture. Flower over-sized chair, striped couch. Funny!
