Last weekend we stopped all of our normal Sunday services and held one big celebration out in the parking lot. More than 600 people gathered around to watch as 44 people made an outward expression of an inward change. These people shared their stories, which ranged from being stabbed seven times and surviving to winning the battle with Leukemia. Women expressed their thankfulness to God for being released from addiction and abuse. Men cried as they told us that they were among the walking dead and that now they are alive in Christ. Others told stories of family members that never gave up on them, that kept praying for them when it seemed useless…look at them now.
This is weakness becoming strength at it’s best. As these people enter the water they are mounted upon a cross, and as they exit the water a crown is mounted upon their heads. Praise Jesus.

This is what it’s all about. What a special day. Praise Jesus indeed!

the word that came to mind before i came to leave a comment was “beautiful!”, and so i won’t change what i my spirit was evoked to say, just because others have already said it. how great to see people gathering around the tub to demonstrate how they’re walking with each person in new life.

Praise God from whom all blessings flow! Thank You Father for washing these people with the blood of Jesus. In Jesus’ name, amen.

They enter the baptismal tank “with a cross and exit with a crown.” Thank you for teaching that at VWS because to really know that is life changing.

Too cool. Love you, little bro.

Terrifying, letting go and letting God, but today I so strongly felt I needed to be in church. I didn’t go, but no excuses next Sunday. Haven’t a clue where, but I’m going. Thank you for sharing this. Who is the artist/band in this video?

Thank you so much for sharing this. It was very touching. It is so reassuring to see the mighty work God is doing behind the scenes when we hear so much negativity in the media.

Thanks for sharing! Every time someone gets baptized, I BAWL! Happy tears of course. The children really did me in. I can only hope my little boy makes that decision one day.

I have been waiting for you to post this ever since you said here on your blog that you were getting ready for another baptism service. I don’t even know these people and I have tears of joy in my eyes. I can’t begin to imagine what The Father experienced during these baptisms!!!

There is something so beautiful about witnessing the major events in one’s life.. baptism, marriage, birth, honoring someone who has passed. I watched about half of the video until I couldn’t see anymore through my tears. Many blessings to you and your parishoners.

I guess its because I don’t share the same religious practices nor did i grow up in any sort of religious household, so a baptismal is something hard for me to understand but at the same time I do. Its a very strange tug of war inside my head.
the video part does not seem as powerful to me as the still photos, that might be because i take more photos than videos now. beautiful shots to capture something that obviously means a great deal in someones life.

Beautiful. Was telling my husband about this last night and how I really really really want to do this. I’m from Michigan, don’t belong to a church. I listen to Family Life Radio every day and no other station. I wonder if they organize such an event. Thanks for inspiring me…..Live, Love, Laugh, Listen

Awesome! This is so touching. It reminded me of my baptism as a teenager many moons ago. Thanks for sharing.

I’m cryin’ like a baby. I can only imagine how God and His angels are celebrating these sweet ones who’ve come to Him. May they never forget the feeling of the cool water cleansing more than just their bodies that sunny morning. God is good. All the time.

Thank you for sharing this video. I found your site via The Pioneer Woman. This video blessed me so much. I’m just coming out of (hopefully) a period of mourning for the loss of my father this January, my brother 2 years ago in September and my mother in 2003. It’s been a hard, angry, emotional, lost, hopeless year so far. Your video reminded me of the joy of my salvation, vividly! Thank you so much.
