Allison and I are heading out for a date night tonight. This is going to be our first one without either of the kids. Since Allison is still nursing Finley, we’ll have to time things perfectly. We will have approximately 3 hours to ourselves…that means a lot more to us now that we have two attention-sucking human beings. 3 hours together. It will be blissful.

Say, why don't you post a comment, subscribe via RSS, or follow me on twitter?

Chances are you’ll end up talking about the kids and how adorable they are and how much you love them! But enjoy your time alone.

You will also be thinking about your attention-sucking human beings … the … whole … time. Even if you manage to not talk about them. Especially your wife – trust me, I know :) I’ve nursed three kids (still at it with my third, at almost 15 months old), and she’ll be constantly aware of the fact that he’s not with her.

Great pictures! Enjoy your three hours :)

Wonderful. I truly understand. We have a 3 month old and managed to get out this weekend for almost 2 hours by ourselves. We also have 2 other children.
ENJOY!! Try not to talk about the kids!

Good for you! Take it from a woman who has raised 5 kids. Date night is a must! Some day when your kids fly the coop, you don’t want to turn around, look at your mate and say, “who the heck are you?” Keep the lovin’ good.
