I’ve been issued a formal challenge by the folks over at LoveFeast Table. They sent me a secret ingredient in the mail and gave me the ridiculous task of creating something SAVORY with it.
Here’s the ingredient:
Any guesses as to what I made last night with this Blackberry Hot Fudge Sauce??
I’ll be posting a recipe later on today, but for now, throw out some guesses to see if any of you can figure out what I’ve made with it. If you guess right, there might just be something in it for you…moohahaha.

I am going to guess a mole. That or a steak marinade…. That’s all I can come up with for a savory item with blackberry hot fudge sauce.

mole sauce….
love the site, thank you and have a great weekend

Blackberry fudge and basil bread. Sounds yummy to me!

BBQ sauce?

Chili?

I’m going with a glaze for pork chops!

Baby back ribs with raspberry hot fudge mop sauce.
{reply}
Hmmm….something with mushrooms? something with steak? We can’t wait to see what you concoct!! We also can’t wait to make your recipe and taste them side by side!!

Oops, make that blackberry hot fudge sauce. Raspberry sounds good, too, though.
{reply}
Use it to create a savory blackberry glaze for beef?
Sounds weird enough to be possible. Maybe even tastey.

Ribs, I just keep thinking about ribs. All morning I’ve been thinking how nice it would be to eat some ribs for breakfast.
{reply}
Please tell me you paired it with some pork. Probably because I’ve been craving pork lately and I think everything should be paired with pork.
{reply}
Some sort of cobbler?
{reply}
brownies!
{reply}
I’m guessing some sort of beef/pork glazed roast thing? Yeah, culinary terms, not my strong point
{reply}
I think it has to do with fish, a sauce of some kind and maybe a salad dressing? Love your site and the kids are looking pretty beautiful.

I would use it to cook a chicken, some kind of chicken dish. I’d add hot spices to pepper it up, turn it almost into a Mexican Mole sauce. Drool drool, that would be good!
I always add cocoa powder to my chili, it adds a depth of flavour, so this isn’t out of the realm of possibility.

Beef rib sauce.
{reply}
I would guess a Mole Sauce…
{reply}
I’d try chili, I think.
{reply}
Something with Mole Sauce?
{reply}
I’m going to guess some kind of brownie-like dessert. –something different from the other guesses.
{reply}
I say lamb! Maybe a little lamb roast with blackberry fudge sauce, thinned out with a little bourbon and some fresh mint…
{reply}
Gravy?
{reply}
Something with beef. A sauce or glaze for beef.
{reply}
Feel free to keep guessing, but no guesses will count towards a prize from this point forward.
{reply}
I would have just put it on ice cream. After all that is what it says right there on the jar. Although I still can’t stop thinking about eating some ribs.
{reply}
Dang it! I was just at your house. I could have done some detective work if I had read this earlier!
{reply}
Maybe meatloaf…you know, that sweet/savory sauce that goes on top?
{reply}
I’m going to guess a Pork Tenderloin.
{reply}
A beef rib roast.
{reply}
I’d go for some pork with that, for sure!
{reply}
brisket!
{reply}
Pork Roast!
{reply}
Added it to a braising sauce for short ribs.
{reply}
Glazed Carrots?
{reply}
I’m thinking something with chicken? A glaze?
{reply}
I guess chicken wings.
{reply}
I am going to guess something off the wall like a dessert with fresh fruit. Have a great weekend.
{reply}
Chicken or pork
{reply}
Scallop sauce
{reply}
My first thought was mole sauce, but I’ve had chili with chocolate in it…definitely something Central or South American.
{reply}
This sounds good. I’ll try it after my favorite *Salmon* recipe. Then I’ll let you know what I think. I have to say…I am not a huge fan of the chicken wing…but maybe your recipe will rearrange my thought pattern. Here’s to hopin’!
