My best (might I add, only) present was that my son hiked up a big hill in the snow in the middle of a blizzard to have Christmas dinner with me. We will definitely remember this Christmas!
That photo made me LAUGH OUT LOUD!!!! My daughter who just got home from college today said…Next year we should all take our Xmas picture of us all wearing footie pajamas. And she did not even see this picture! HA!
My coolest present-my grandma sent me a photo album filled with old family pictures. I could not stop looking at it!
My husband’s coolest present-I think it was a tie for him actually between the gps watch and the tony hawk wii skateboard. (both of which I got him, because I am an awesome wife that way)
I got a book I’ll never read and my husband got a bottle that you store your olive oil in. He doesnt cook. Go figure. Ahhhh the holidays, arent they peachy.
Love the p.js’s by the way. You two look like escaped convicts from the Smurf pen.
*snicker* My husband bought me a new GPS for the car. Apparently he remembered the last time we were in the car with the old one and I threatened to throw it out the window.
My husband researched and bought me a tripod for me on Craig’s list. He drove two hours round trip to get it for me. Sweet man…….30 years married to me and he still keeps giving.
We didn’t really do gifts this year. My husband got me a watch a month ago or so, and we just kind of counted that as good. =) He didn’t really want anything, and neither of us had the time to get anything, so…yeah. We still had a nice Christmas, though, but I’d like to actually do it up a little bit more next year.
My brother decided to get me things off of my things I’ve never done list on my blog http://www.thedan.us so he got me a can of red bull, a Starbucks gift card, and some boxers.
I made out like a bandit too LENSBABY yeah! heehee, the composer with accessories and a Nikon 50mm for my best friend, my D90. My bester friend gave it to me…my fiance
I got some awesome stuff from Williams Sonoma which made me pretty doggone happy, but the best gift of all was having all our kids over, playing games until midnight and family closeness. We read the Christmas Story at midnight and I sat there thinking…it doesn’t get any better than this…my best gift this Christmas? Family love…and that’s enuff said1
Didn’t give much this year, though my dad insisted on giving a bit of money to everyone. With that, I bought a low-cost 5 qt. enameled cast iron dutch oven similar to yours (only bluish-purple) and got an exercise DVD. I love the dutch oven! Husband bought a HDTV in November and it ended up that he gave it to me to use in our bedroom (we watch TV separately, we like different shows). Husband got a GPS for his birthday in November. Our kids got money and a gift card yesterday. That is all. Christmas meal with family was postponed as 5 of us are sick with flu, hopefully we can get together for New Years.
Smurfs! The Musical! (with a very off, off, off, off Broadway budget)
Or, is it some Norwegian remake of a Bollywood love story?
Wait, are you guys reenacting a scene from Avatar?
Umm this is probably the first year I didn’t get anything crazy. Last year my wife’s grandmother bought we some crazy christmas boxers.. which i thought was a little weird. But this year was just lots of Starbucks gift cards.. thank you Jesus.
Oh my goodness…that is so very funny. So funny.
I don’t think we got anything too strange, but there was a surprise. We got an electronic drum set from my husband’s dad and his wife (so fun) and along with it came a key studio. That’s what the box said. So we didn’t open the box, until today when my husband was setting the drums up. Inside the key studio box were some more wrapped presents! So we took a few more minutes to open up gifts. That was fun, too.
I got totally spoiled…I got a beautiful wide angle lens for my camera!!! YEAH!!! and tickets to a John Meyer concert from the kids…and beautiful hand made scarf and gloves from my friend (really really beautiful ones..like a piece of art)
Feeling very spoiled, but the best part was being able to celebrate it with G’dad one more year
You guys are hysterical! I would melt away in those things!
The ridiculous Christmas present that Hubby and I received this year was a three-hole punch from my Jewish uncle. That was shipped to us. I saw the box and said, “Maybe there’s something else in it.” Nope. A three-hole punch.
We went on holiday this year with my family to Disney. The unquestionably best bizarre gift surrounding the trip was a whoopee cushion one of us won at skeeball in a local arcade. Many shenanigans ensued.
A Diva Joe Rocket Winter waterproof 2-pc riding suit. Jacket is here and pants here. I totally was not expecting this. In fact, I was not expecting anything. My husband was blessed with some back pay from Unemployment Income from when he was out of work. He applied for extended benefits. They took their good ole sweet time in dealing with it. Just on Christmas week he noticed extra money in our bank account online. GOD “is” more than good! We also finally got our paperwork to help us save our house from foreclosure!
My mom got me bumpits… but I suppose it is only fitting since I got her a snuggie. She will actually USE the snuggie though, I am not sure I have it in me to wear a bumpit.
@Lisa, heehee, I had to look up bumbits – they look pretty rockin if you’re into pompadours!! Someone gave me a snuggie thing a few months ago.. I wear it open in front like a giant robe. Very regal. I’m thinking the bumpit might complete the look…
My most favorite gift was my two children dicovering the joy in giving rather than receiving. This is the first year that both of them have done their own shopping.
My other more tangible present was a ROOMBA! I love it a lot more than I thought I would.
I got to see my sister and her boyfriend for Christmas. I didn’t ask for it, but I got it anyway, and I didn’t realize how much I wanted it until I got it. I’m pretty happy!
We got matching pjs last Christmas so it’s becoming our “family” Christmas tradition to wear pjs on Christmas even when we have to travel. Took Christmas dinner to our daughter’s house since she just had a baby and hubby and I wore our pjs there. When we got their, they were wearing their pjs too.
I love the pjs! Most of all i love the joy you two share! It is so cute to see a couple enjoying their marriage everyday. Who gave you extraordinary PJ’s?

Dan, however, did not feel awkward in giving a shameless plug for his blog now, did he?!

those pictures look less like “frolicking in pajamas” and more like “two escaped convicts fleeing prison through the woods”.
love it.
