I picked up my Grandad from Dialysis and he pulled a photo out of his coat pocket (above) for me to take a look at. He pointed to the boy in the front row with the pitchfork and told me that was my Great Grandad…his father. The photograph was from 1880. Then he pointed to the guy standing up in the back (3rd from left) and asked me, “Who does that look like?”
Creepy.
Before and after a beard shaving…

We’re not sure who this guy is exactly…but you’ve got to admit there’s something strange going on.

Ha ha, love the pitchfork in the pic! That’s awesome!
Looks like you got your rugged good looks naturally.
{reply}
That little blond in the front holding the tool looks like your daughter A LOT also.
{reply}
Whoa, you have to find out who that guy is!
{reply}
wow. talk about family resemblance. i used to think my step-brother was actually my brother (don’t ask how i figured this out – he was a fraternal twin) until i saw his father’s sister. BAM, no longer my half brother.
{reply}
Yeah, that’s about par for the course. Unfortunately, I don’t look like any old pictures of my family. Now, if you stick a picture of my uncle next to a picture of his maternal grandfather…with the exception of the age of the photo, you’d swear they were the same guy!
{reply}
Wow!! I picked up on that before even reading your post!!! And the little girl who looks a little like Ava.
{reply}
Seriously, that is incredible.
{reply}
Woaaaaaaah! To randomly pick up a photo from 1880 and have a double looking back at you is intense. Obviously he’s family!
{reply}
Wow, that is so crazy! Very surreal. And, could your wedding picture be any cuter? Beautiful.
{reply}
Clone Wars! The little girl on the right does look like Ava. Who is that guy any way?
{reply}
This is really quite funny.
{reply}
WOW! It’d be really great to know who that is. It’s so fun to look back at these old pictures to see family resemblances you never knew existed.
{reply}
Oh My….It is your twin!! Funny! Bless you for picking up your graddad….could we see a picture of him?
Also your wedding photo is BEAUTIFUL!! You look like a kid in a candy store with that expression on your face….hope that is framed somewhere in your home.
{reply}
I mean seriously…..I just looked at the wedding phote again and it made me chuckle….it’s as if you were thinking….”And you mean I get to TAKE her home too??” I LOVE IT!!
Now go give Allison a kiss!
{reply}
Wow, Ryan, that is crazy! You will definitely have to find out who that is!
{reply}
This looks exactly like you!
{reply}
Very striking! And I’m with the others that have said the little girl in the front looks like Ava, I thought that was who you were referring to before I read your post!
(Love that wedding picture, you looks so very tickled!)
{reply}
It looks like he may be a little taller than you, though….
{reply}
I had such a thing happen to me also. Unfortunately, I lost the picture(s). My great grandfather is from France. My grandmother, his child, was raised Canadian/American French. When my grandmother shared a picture of her father with me… I was like… is that my dad? She laughed… We have very strong genes. I look just like them! It is creepy.
{reply}
There must be something in the water…

PLEASE PRAY… I do not know if this is the right place to post this, or if it is appropriate here, so if not feel free to move or delete it. But I need to get the word out about a sweet girl named Jenny who needs prayers desperately. She is a 31 year old dynamic believer in Jesus Christ, married, and the mother of a little 10-year-old girl. She went to the hospital with the flu and pneumonia last week and is now in critical condition literally fighting for her life. Her website is https://www.carepages.com/carepages/JennyBizaillionUpdates (create a login, it is free). Please take a moment to join all those around the world praying for this sweet girl and lift her up to the throne of God!

Someday, generations from now, people will find your picture (on a hard drive somewhere) and think the same thing.
Cool.
{reply}
Wow…Bizzaro World!
{reply}
Isn’t it weird how that happens?
I have a portrait hanging in my dining room of my great grandmother (father’s mother’s mother) of whom i am the spitting image. It is creepy, but cool at the same time.
{reply}
I totally saw that resemblance before I even read the post. It IS creepy. Also, your wedding picture is adorable, you both look like babies!
{reply}
What a beautiful piece of nostalgia for you! I remember finding a somewhat saucy photo of my grandma as a young lady and immediately thinking.. oh..so that’s where I get it. Even though she had been gone for a while by then, it made me feel very close to her in a way that I hadn’t before.
{reply}
This is so cool. I think you got your good looks from your fathers brother
and ..I agree with some of the above comments the little girl in the front looks like Ava, and……if she taps her hoe on the ground and sings do do do do do…do do..her name and farming history bears resemblence to green acres is the place to be, faaarrm livin is the life for me………..
{reply}
and your wedding picture IS beautiful.
{reply}
Old family photos are the best. What a cool find.
I love your wedding pic. There is so much love in that photo, it brings tears to my eyes.

Cool! Family history is fascinating. My Grandpa (who just turned 85) recently passed a few old pictures and heirlooms on to me. Priceless!
{reply}
So neat! Love the wedding picture as well…..you have a beautiful family. Love it!
{reply}
That is so sweet that he did that for you. I remember sitting with my Great Grandma going over all her photo albums and listening to the stories over and over. Oh I would give anything to have those days back but I will cherish the memories.
{reply}
Just look at the menacing tools your granddad and Ava’s twin are holding – right by the other kids and people’s faces! Now THAT is what I find weird!
{reply}
Sorry, great granddad, not granddad.
{reply}
Love the family pictures….think the genetic markings are running strong in your family. Yes, looks like Ava in there too. Great wedding picture.
{reply}
Ryan,
The resemblance is almost creepy! It almost looks like you were photoshop.
{reply}
This is one reason why I will never have plastic surgery- my face is part of my heritage!
{reply}
What do you mean, you don’t know who that guy is?! He looks just like you! What are you, crazy?! Find out who that guy is. Holy Moley! That’s beyond crazy.
{reply}
Wow. Noticed as soon as I scanned the pic! That is crazy.
{reply}
Family genes at work! Uncanny!
{reply}
Creepy? No way! Magical!
{reply}
We have a picture like that of a long-ago relative who from the late 1800′s who looks just like my uncle. Only my grandfather does genealogy (sp.?) so we know who the distant relative is
Old family pictures are fascinating.
{reply}
That’s so funny…I love, love, love old photographs. Last time I was at my Great Uncle’s house this winter, he went through a bunch of old family photos with me…telling me who was who. I really enjoyed it, so important to keep those records. Funny enough I found a picture of my Greatgrandma Carrie that looked EXACTLY like my mother. And then there is a photo of my mother around the age of 5 that looks like it could have been me.
{reply}
Crazy how young you look clean shaven.
{reply}
Loved the pix, no offense but when I first looked at the last one…your wedding shot, I thought Alison was kissing a teenager.. You certainly have become more manly and mature over the years. Now you are kissing the teenager (Alison did not age a bit)… both of you are lovely.
{reply}
Haha, that IS creepy… totally your doppelganger
{reply}
Awesome! My dad recently received a picture of his great grandparents and their children. Turns out I look almost identical to their eldest daughter Bess… I guess that would be my great great great aunt Bess… AND we almost have the same name. Funny stuff.
