It saddens me a little, though, that so many have given up on corporate church. I know it doesn't have to be at a "church" building, but we do not want to forget that we are part of a Body -our personal relationship with God wasn't intended to be entirely personal; it is to be lived out in community. I also teach, as you do so eloquently, that it is about relationship, not religion -but that relationship must extend outward, not just upward. I am "religious" in my habit of going to church, but not because I think that showing up will give me brownie points with God, or help buy a ticket to heaven. I go for all the same reasons you do. I am serious in my desire to grow in my faith, develop a deeper understanding of God and what He has to say to me in His Word. The word does tell us to not forsake meeting together. The book of Acts gives us a great example of the life of the early church, and how I should respond in FAITH. I just know it is what God wants me to do and am incredibly blessed in the doing of it. If someone who is reading this and have had a bad experience, remember Christians are still sinners. Don't give up on going to church! Look diligently for a church.
