Stunning photos! Could I use your photo of the pit latrine in a blog post in about a week? I’ll be blogging about my run-in with a pit latrine like that–something I’d never seen or even imagined–or knew how to use–at Lake Naivasha in Kenya.

As I was shopping for a picture frame for the beautiful black and white photo of the beach I bought from you – I thought of you. You see, it had been a LONG day at school working with 6 boys with Autism and the first day in forever that after work I actually wanted to go out and do something other than crash on the couch. When I got the opportunity to check up on you via your blog, I was blessed and humbled by what YOU had done yesterday. Wow – who was I to feel fatigue and frustration? Ryan, thank you for sharing your trip and the beautiful photos! God is using you in a BIG way! Keep the strenght

@debbie,
debbie, as someone who has spent a *small* amount of time one-on-one in a classroom with a boy with autism, I can say God is using YOU in a big way, too! It is a special person who can do that for 6 kids every day and not get burnt out- exhaustion is understandable. Thanks for what you do!

WOW! Awesome post. I only wish I had my Nikon when we visited Africa. My daughter spent last summer in Lesotho through a summer field study/community service a professor at Wittenberg organizes. Travel is the great teacher and we were blessed to be able to do some travel with our own children to make them more aware of the WORLD we live in.

I sponsor in another country, please let me know someone you’d like me to sponsor there. Thank you for asking me to do more.
{reply}
My husband and I are telling everyone we know about Compassion International and what you all are doing over there right now. It is my prayer that God will provide for all 3000 remaining children in Kenya to be sponsored through your trip. He’s the Big God who does big things–I pray that he moves in the lives of Americans to provide for these children.
{reply}
Beautiful and amazing.
