Free Dinners & Tree Swings…

Since Ryan’s been gone the kids and I have been treated to two home cooked meals at my mom’s house. Tonight during dinner Ava repeatedly asked me to swing on the tree swing with her. Although I was still wearing my work clothes, I finally gave in.

Below is a picture of my younger sister Allayna looking beautiful and graceful on the tree swing.

Um…I’d love to say this is how fabulous Ava and I looked on the swing, but it was quite the opposite. After, a couple of swings Ava started to shift off of my lap. I tried to stop the swing, but it just wouldn’t stop. So there I was stuck on a tree swing, in a fitted suit dress, with my three year old screaming she was going to fall off…What’s a mom to do in this type of situation? I probably could have come up with something really good…well maybe in a different life. But instead, I flopped off the swing and let Ava fall on me. I have the scrapes on my bottom and legs to prove it.

To top it all off, as I described what had happened to my family, I said, “It wasn’t that bad,” and Ava responded with, “Oh, yes it was.”

Oh man…Swing Fail.

It sounds EXACTLY how I would have handled the situation. And then 10 minutes after the fact I probably would have come up with an awesome manuever that wold have worked perfect. LOL

Ok. So when I read this I misread it. I thought you let Ava fall off the swing. I started laughing so hard I was crying. Michael thought I was laughing at the commercial and then made me read it to him. When I was reading it aloud I realized that I misread. Although what happened in my head was a lot funnier, yours was still funny, but mostly sweet. :) You are a good momma.
