There are many things that you can do with an iPhone. I have a couple that I’d like to highlight today:
1. You can take a short video clip of a long snake that you found climbing a tree.
2. You can create some sort of conceptual art piece comprised of an iPhone that your wife left on top of the car roof when she was putting the baby into the car after the phone falls off onto a busy street where it was run over before you could figure out the answer to that question of, Did you hear that??
So…
When was the last time you had one of those “whoops” moments?

Wow! Beautiful piece of art. Uh… I mean…ouch!
{reply}
the phone actually looks rather beautiful like that, it looks like it should be in the MoMA or something!
{reply}
You could also do these things with a Blackberry or any other smartphone
.
Sorry that you dropped your phone.

How sad for your iPhone! Fantastic picture, though!
My last oops moment involved toasting marshmallows over an open fire. I tried to eat one that was still flaming. It was a bit sore.

I love that photo…poor Alison…you are going to frame it aren’t you/ It is defiantly art!!!

I feel your wife’s pain! I ran my husband’s iphone through a 45 minute tumble in the washing machine! He got as far as saying, “Txs for doing the laundry..did you happen to take phone out of my po…” I don’t remember even running to the machine, I just remember laughing hysterically as I watched the water drip out of the phone.
Thankfully my husband was very forgiving and said, “How can I be angry? You do my laundry, I can’t get angry at you for that.” What an angel.

Hey at least it happened just before the new models come out. Getting a new one won’t be nearly as financially traumatic as it could have been. We always have 1 spare phone ( regular, not iPhone) as back up for moments like these. My hubby is really bad with phones….
Makes some cool art though!

Thanks for info, I found McMama and bookmarked again, thanks to you.
Snakes, what’s with you and Pioneer Woman?
{reply}
I wonder if that snake is a blue racer. I have heard they climb trees. (I’m not a herpetologist – can’t even spell it! – so I don’t know.)

@Lisa, It was a Black Rat Snake. The BRS holds a pattern on its back into adulthood because of coloration on its skin below its scales. The black and blue racers are pretty much one solid color. And they are not as commonly seen as in this area as the BRS.

Great pic of that smashed iPod. Probably looks cool to me because it wasn’t mine!
Been there, done that (although with a different phone). I was running across the street on the way to the airport with my youth group in LA and my phone fell out of my pocket and was run over by one of those huge airport shuttles. Looked kinda like that.
{reply}
dude… that snake is AWESOME.. holy crap.

art work = reason a very clumsy woman does NOT want an expensive phone – I can drop and mutilate the el cheapos just as easily!
{reply}
Yep. My entire purse on top of the car. Cell phone, not iPhone. Wallet. Everything. Fortunately I recovered the non-replaceable photo of a dear friend who had died. Everything else, even the ID and credit cards (which I also recovered) was just fluff.

i did the same thing to my macbook, but it stayed on my car for 2 miles. people were yelling at me, but i thought it was because i’m just a bad driver. it fell off in the street, but it survived!
in my defense, the baby got in the car. at least it wasn’t the other way around.

My mistake was letting my 18 month old son play with my iPhone. He wondered what would happen if he threw it into the dog’s water bowl!! Needless to say, I don’t let him play with my new one.

I have whoops moments daily…makes for a very entertaining life!

My most recent “whoops” moment was last night. Either my husband didn’t empty his pockets before throwing his jeans in the laundry basket or I didn’t check them before throwing them in the wash (we haven’t agreed on who’s fault it was). His iPod went through the wash. Whoops.

@Erika, Erika – he truly should be responsible for cleaning out his own pockets for heaven’s sake!!

“Whoops” and “whew that was close” happen around here all the time. Mine often pertain to driving directions. I am directionally challenged and when you live in the metro DC area that can be a problem
{reply}
oh no!
that is so sad.
RIP iPhone!
i washed my wedding rings last night, took both sets of keys with me while i was at my last undergrad class – wouldn’t have been a big deal but both my boys had baseball practice they had to get to while i was gone (hubby was going to take them) and a furniture delivery to the garage. no keys. no baseball. no delivery.
{reply}
Oh no! I grieve with you the horror. I don’t know what i’d ever do if I lost my iphone. I love it. yes, I do
{reply}
Somehow, I don’t think that’s covered by waranty.
Kind of like how putting one through the washing machine isn’t either… :S
{reply}
Sorry about the phone!
Tricky, no?
I could write a book about all the whoops moments…yet can think of none at the moment.
Oh! Here was a funny one, not too tragic. I had one raw egg in each hand. I was about to crack them into a skillet, when I realized that my sleeves needed to come up a bit. Since my hands were full I kind of threw my arms up in the air quickly, kind of straight out and a bit angled. Each egg hit the hood of my oven just like it was the edge of a bowl, and then the yolks landed neatly in a baking dish with homemade marbles in it that just happened to be sitting on top of the stove.
Ah, and I have washed two cell phones in the washing machine. I see someone else did that, too.

Most recent Whoops moment? Simple. Two weeks ago when I didn’t put the ‘plug’ in the drain that is in my basement floor. Torrential downpour for hours + city pump station problems= 8 inches of sewer backup through that tiny drain, filling my entire basement=construction dumpster overflowing with my bio hazard soaked belongings. File under: lesson learned. Sorry ’bout yer phone.

Better the iPhone on the car than the baby in the baby carrier, which is what happened here in a local city. The father drove down the highway, reaching speeds of 60 m.p.h. while motorists attempted to get his attention and slow him down. Finally he slowed and stopped in a break down lane and the baby carrier went sailing off the roof of the car landing many many yards in front of his vehicle on the highway. The carrier landed as well as any piloted jet may have…and the baby was unharmed. That would be a tough one to ‘mention’ to your wife! It was all over the news too, so very public, HUGE Oops!
{reply}
My most recent big OOOPS moment was when I tried pulling into the garage w/ a huge Christmas tree box tied to the top of our van. It broke the garage door and put some nasty dents in the top of our van. =( Hubby was none too happy with me.
{reply}
Ugh, your poor iPhone. My phone related oops was to run my razr phone through the complete washer and dryer cycles, and it came out working, I am amazed, I’m still using the same phone. My most recent oops was to take my boyfriends debit card to the ATM for him, withdraw cash for him, on the way home I set the cash and card in the center console of his car, when I arrived at the house, picked up the money and card, the debit card slipped through a slot under the ash tray and disappeared forever into the bowels of his car. Lucky for me he has been forgiving about that.

Holy Cow – the snake thing – that just freaks me out. I hope that Iphone had a good zoom and you weren’t really that close. Is it poisonous? We have rattlesnakes around here and the neighbors kids have had a few bites over the years – we’ve been a little luckier on that front…..probably someone looking out for my kids cuz’ He knew their mother would panic and not react quickly or correctly or just pass out all together!!
