Keyword Analysis…

I use StatCounter to check in every now and again on all things related to this blog. It allows me to see where people are coming from, how many people a day are reading, and most importantly for me…the crazy stuff that people search for and end up finding my posts. Often times I have no clue how someone could search for something so strange and turn up on something I’ve written. The interwebs are kooky. Some of the recent gems are listed below. Click on each photo to see the corresponding post.

@Elaine, There’s no like button to press like on facebook, so I’m just going to say, “I like this comment.”

It is so strange that you posted about this today because I wrote a post about the same thing on my blog today. Weird! I love my stats page as well and it never ceases to amaze me how many people love Jim Brickman.

And I thought the search phrases bringing people to *my* blog were odd. These are hilarious! What kind of blog *is* this? :- )

I love looking at things people search and end up on my blog. My favorite is “small bonfire marshmallows”. Someone searched it nearly every day for over 6 months. It hasn’t shown in the search terms for a while now and I kind of miss it. I still wonder what a small bonfire marshmallow is.

Now that is what I call a truly random selection. The one about dealing with siblings who are in jail reminded me that it has been a while since you last posted anything about Amie.

LOL! My last blog post, like Natasha, was on this very subject.

Although, there is one search term used that somehow landed on my blog… and I will never tell what it was. I still haven’t figured it out.

  12. How is Amie doing Ryan? Hope she succeeded in defeating her demons and is living a wonderful life.

  13. Megan says:

Yes, I am wondering how Amie is doing now. I will keep her in my prayers. That was such a moving post, knowing the childhood you both had to overcome. May God sustain you in your role as her big, caring brother :-)

I am just starting to understand how to use the tools to do proper keyword research. I am finding that many of the tools return different results for the identical keyword. Maybe I’m just not reading them correctly?
