This makes me wish I could play guitar with my little girl…

I want to buy all kinds of this useless and useful stuff…

I’ve been watching Top Gear a lot recently – much to Ava’s dismay. She still prefers SpongeBob Squarepants. A few days ago, I lured her into the Living Room with promises of having her favorite TV show on so we could watch together. As soon as the intro music began she yelled, “NOOO!!! I don’t like Top Gear! This is not my favorite show!”

Here, Jeremy Clarkson tests out the Reliant Robin to see how stable this 3-wheeled creation is…

Nyquil – apparently the stuff that really knocked you out was removed from this medicine a while back, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t make you goofy. I am trying to get over the flu right now and after a sleepless night of taking one dose of Nyquil I decided to take a double dose of Nyquil the next night. As a result, I had the most ridiculous recurring dream ever. I woke up every 15-30 minutes because I believe my sub-conscience was frustrated. Over and over and over I dreamed about geometric shapes flying towards each other and when they collided they would turn into a different geometric shape. It was so monotonous that I was actually praying for my boring shape dreams to go away. They didn’t though – as soon as I closed my eyes they were right back.

Nyquil

I think I’ll stick with one dose from now on.

Say, why don't you post a comment, subscribe via RSS, or follow me on twitter?

The American version of Top Gear is such a disappointment. The BBC one is so much better.

Loved the Top Gear video! The BBC version is so much better than the American one. Of course, it takes a little while until you can understand what they are saying :)

I have weird dreams about shapes when I have the flu too! Ever since I was a kid I would dream about shapes floating around and it was frustrating because it was like they were supposed to fit together and they just didn’t, they just kept bumping into each other instead. I still have those dreams and when they start I know I have the flu. How weird is that?

Also, Nyquil (and Tylenol PM) don’t make me drowsy. I can fall asleep, but several hours later I’m wide awake like I had all sorts of caffeine. So I don’t take those. On the upside of this, I can take all sorts of medicine during the day and I don’t get drowsy.

I had to rush through your comments to see if anyone experienced the shapes dreams too. I’ll check back when you have more comments. Maybe it’s just a coincidence.

I’ve always been told that taking Whiskey is just as effective as Nyquil and cheaper to boot.

Also, try introducing Ava to Phineas and Ferb. We think it is a much more smartly written show and our kids (age 3 to 14) love it more than Spongebob.

  10. I used to have dreams like that as a kid. Over and over. Hmm maybe my mom was giving me cold medicine when I had them?

Forgot to mention that our 3 year old says the EXACT same thing when we try to watch Top Gear.

Yeah, all they took out of nyquil was the booze… have a couple hot totties and you’ll probably have a much better nights sleep! Never had the shape dream, I get the crazy guy chasing me in the jungle with a machete. The little girl and her daddy were awesome. My favorite part? “I’m gonna whistle someday?” WIN.

That first videos is one of my favorites. I’ve watched it quite a few times. As for Relients, my Dad owned one but his had 4 wheels.

Your dream sounds like that episode of the office where they all wait for the word (from the screen saver) to move into the corner of the screen.
Also my husband once got nyquil and dayquil mixed up. He took the green pills every four hours for a couple of days. He was like zombie.

I know I’m a bit late to the party but just have to comment. Love the video, like BBC Top Gear, US version not so much, but what really got me was the dream. The one dream from my childhood that I remember vividly and was totally freaked out about was the various shapes that would contract and expand and zoom toward me and zoom out and spin. Worst dream ever! I only remember having that once but I still remember that one. I wonder what it means since it seems to be a pretty common theme.
