Randomography // West Fork Park…

I’ve been feeling the need to let Ava roam around a bit more. You know, without me being within an 8-foot proximity.

“Ava…Hey Ava! Where are you? Ava?”

“I’m right here Daddy.”

“Oh.”

“Finn. I told you like eleven times not to stand up in there.”

“Ava. Kiss your brother’s head. He bonked it.”

“Look Daddy! A puppy!”

“She’s my puppy.”

“Oh, she is? What’s her name?”

“Lilly.”

And just like that she was part of a posse.

“Hang in there buddy…you’ll be able to keep up with the big kids soon.”

“Look. Your big sister still likes playing with you too.”

Four 4′s…

Four movies I’d recommend

The Fighter

Documentary: Young @ Heart

Tangled

Son of Rambow

Four fleeting thoughts

* Today I broke a nearly 6 month hiatus from Taco Bell. Hearing the rumor / news that their “beef” was only approximately 40% beef could only keep me away for so long. After all, we all know they barely give you any “meat” anyway. Forgive me foodies…It was delicious.

* I’m 28 years old and this thing has started happening recently that I am so excited about; I’m not the youngest anymore. Many times I found myself immersed in a group of older-than-I people trying to keep up in their conversations. I’ve impressed, and I’m sure I’ve shown my youth when I thought I’d impressed. Now, there are younger guys coming into the fold and I can see myself in their shoes as gentle wisdom washes over them for the first time. The same advice and knowledge hit my ears and heart years before – to hear it now would almost be unwelcome, but as I wear their ears…it’s a beautiful rhythm.

* It’s a curious thing to search one’s inner man.
To wonder what lengths and depths God would be willing to go to make His true love known by me.

* I’ve never been more aware of my inability to enjoy the process rather than the payoff. This is why I don’t like working on my house. I am not a good craftsman. I want to work on many things, but I want them to be excellent in the end. I am afraid of not being excellent, therefore I do many things just enough to scrape by.
